About

In the past years our Venezuelan brothers & sisters have been immigrating to different parts of the world in hopes of a better future. My own friends are currently in other countries without their mom, dad, brothers, sisters, boyfriend, girlfriend. Many of them have been coming to neighboring Peru and often without a home or job when they do get there. Many of our friends, family, and even our own parents know this feeling. One such man is René Cobeña of Lima, Peru. In San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, Peru – René has created work and provided housing for dozens of Venezuelans coming to Lima, Peru at NO cost. Lone travelers, couples, single parents, children, and entire families come here. He has undertaken all the expenses and has even had to stop paying his daughter’s university studies. He is a social entrepreneur of his own making, he has started a flour-making business inside the building he rents which helps to pay for the costs and employs the guest. René helps these families get situated, once they find work and can provide for themselves, they leave the hostel for another person in need.

The goal is to raise enough money to pay a month’s worth of rent so that this project can continue serving more people.

There are many causes out there you can support, however, I ask that you join me for this one night in supporting this one. Join me in supporting René and his noble mission. Join me in helping these families get started off on the right foot. Gracias!
